I had picked up this kit for a school project and found that the majority of the sensors did or where sensitive enough for what I was doing.
With tutorial in a CD. Get this along with your first arduino uno/mega kit. You could quibble with some of the components that are included but overall there's a good range of sensors, buttons, lights and motors included to build a huge range of things.
